AUDITION NOTICE

About the play:

Scoobi is an undocumented-law-student-love-child of the Zapatista rebellion of 1994. Her mother Petra, a former revolutionary, is also undocumented. Dylan O'Reilly is Scoobi’s ticket to citizenship. This odd trio navigates personal and political borders on the heels of Scoobie’s marriage of inconvenience to Dylan. Oh yes, Roko, the soldier-ghost of Scoobi’s soulmate is hanging out too.

About the project:

Third Culture has partnered with Mónica Sanchez to develop and debut the world premiere of her new play, LOS DREAMERS. LOS DREAMERS was named one of the eight top unproduced Latinx plays of 2019 by the 50 Playwrights Project and Third Culture is thrilled to present the premiere.

We will first be conducting a developmental workshop for the production in advance of the rehearsal period (dates below). These auditions are for the workshop, with the aim of keeping the cast on for the full production which will open in late May.

PLEASE NOTE: while the hope is to keep the same cast from the workshop on for the full production, given the nature of workshops we can not guarantee all roles/actors will be kept or play the same roles.

*This production contains English and Spanish dialogue. Bilingual actors are strongly encouraged to apply. Those without Spanish proficiency should be comfortable with (or able to learn) Spanish pronunciation.

Developmental Workshop:

Saturday March 14th: 10AM-4PM

Production Rehearsal Schedule:

First Rehearsal, Thursday April 16th

Rehearsals are M-Th, 7-11PM, and Saturdays, 11AM-4PM

Open May 22nd, F/S/Sun performances until June 7th, with an optional holdover weekend on June 12-14th
